| Marionnaud sets a sign with small bears for big help
Charity for "Licht ins Dunkel" and "SOS Kinderdorf"
Austria (9 October 2007)
As of November 22nd, the 6th birthday of the company in Austria, the Marionnaud Christmas bears will conquer the country for the second time. Four Euros per sold bear (price € 7.90) will flow into the charity fund. The organisations "Licht ins Dunkel", "SOS Kinderdorf" and projects that especially help women and children will be supported this year again. This time even two bears follow the last year's popular polar bear. € 120.000 have been collected and donated with the charity activity in 2006.
Social responsibility has been very important for Marionnaud from the beginning on. "With all our actions we bear a large responsibility for our customers, partners and all fellow men. That is why we want to share the success of the company with those whom the fate played pranks on", tells Markus Reichenspurner, head of Marionnaud Austria.
The activity is part of the project "Petits Marionnaud" that was founded in 2002. The company already collected more than € 600.000 with different activities that usually take place around Marionnaud's birthday. The perfumery chain supported therefore the "SOS Kinderdorf", the Salzburg women's shelter, the children protection centre Vienna and "women against rape".
A.S. Watson - Charity With its charity activities, Marionnaud Austria is part of the European Christmas initiative that was founded by the A.S. Watson Luxury Perfumeries last year and also part of the global Corporate Social Responsibility program of A.S. Watson. The program supports a large number of charity organisations worldwide.
