In June 1998, Watson's Wine Cellar opened its first store in Central Hong Kong and is now the largest specialist wine store chain in the region with 15 stores.

Watson's Wine Cellar offers Asia's growing wine market a larger range than any other retail wine store. With vintages sourced directly from over 20 countries, Watson's Wine Cellar lists over 2,000 different wines in total, more than 400 of which are "exclusive" and cannot be found elsewhere.

A distinctive feature of each Cellar is the Fine Wine Room containing over 300 different vintages ranging from the top Chateaux from Bordeaux to emerging New World Classics from around the world.

All wines are temperature controlled, 24 hours per day, both in the Watson's Wine Cellar stores and the state-of-the-art wine warehouse, ensuring that all wines are perfectly maintained until they reach the customer.

Watson's Wine Cellar offers free wine tasting on weekends, where customers can appreciate the wines and talk to the sales team for specific information and advice. All staff undergo the internationally recognised Wine & Spirit Education Trust (W.S.E.T.) wine training - so when they recommend a wine, they've tasted it and know its background - and if they don't have specific information, they will find out.

Watson's Wine Wholesale has grown significantly since its launch in 2000 and is now one of the top suppliers of wine to the food and beverage industry. It supplies its exclusive range of wine, beer and spirits to top hotels, restaurants and bars around Hong Kong.

In 2007, Watson's Wine Cellar and Watson's Wine Wholesale were named "Best Retailer" and "Best Wholesale" in Hong Kong's wine trade business by Wine Business International, a global wine business publication, to recognise its outstanding performance.

In August 2007 Watson's Wine Cellar opened a store-within-store concept at the Venetian, Macau in partnership with travel retailer Nuance-Watson. The wine section offers guests at the biggest casino resort complex in Asia an excellent selection of fine wine and professional service.
