Trekpleister
was acquired by the Kruidvat Group (now part
of A.S. Watson) in 1998. From the very beginning,
Kruidvat took very good care of its former
competitor. Kruidvat's logistics system was
implemented almost immediately while all stores
were quickly refurbished and new stores opened.
Today, Trekpleister is a key player in the
Group with outstanding growth figures and
a highly motivated team that wants to perform
even better in the Netherlands than its colleague
and former competitor, Kruidvat.
With over 130 stores, Trekpleister is well
on its way to becoming No. 2 in the Dutch
market, a position nobody could have dreamed
of only five years ago when Trekpleister joined
the Group.
Today, Trekpleister combines an informal,
friendly store atmosphere with a low-price
image and successful promotions in both health
& beauty and its growing range of general
merchandise products.
Trekpleister private labels, re-introduced
in 1999-2000, are now among the major attractions
of this successful store chain and the growth
expectations of the management are very ambitious.
