PARKnSHOP
has taken the lead in China's supermarket revolution,
keeping one step ahead of a growing consumer population.
PARKnSHOP became the first
foreign retailer in the China market in 1984, with
the opening of its Shekou supermarkets. It opened
its first Superstore in 2000 and more recently its
largest Megastore, a 203,880-sq. ft. retail centre
offering everything from fresh vegetables to air-conditioners,
textiles, furniture and toys - everything but homes
and cars - in the lively Tianhe district of Guangzhou.
The chain's familiar "P" logo serves as
a symbol of the trusted position the PARKnSHOP
brand has assumed for mainland shoppers.
The new PARKnSHOP Megastores
are in line with an increasing consumer trend in
China towards hypermarkets. The megastores combine
the supermarket concept with discounted department
stores where customers can enjoy a self-service
shopping environment offering quality products at
unbeatable prices.
Today, some 1 million shoppers visit a neighbourhood
PARKnSHOP every week. With
a broad presence in major cities like Guangzhou,
Shenzhen and Dongguan, PARKnSHOP
has been awarded the title of "Consumers Most Favourite Brand Shopping Centre" in southern China. .
