Thank You for Work!

As a response to COVID-19, April was named “Thank You for work!” month at Drogas and celebrated with different activities. Employees wrote thank-you notes to each other both in digital format and by hand. Office staff were asked to participate as volunteers, gifting nutrient supplement to the store teams and spend some time with them to say a personal thank you. The management team recorded a special thank-you video and shared with all employees, and an audio recording was aired on radio as well as in stores.

Elders in nursing home are more prone to Cvoid-19, so it is very important to maintain good hygiene. Drogas Latvia donates necessary hygiene products to over 80 nursing homes in Latvia to help them prevent from the spread of virus.

To encourage its employees to pay more attention to their physical, mental and social health, Drogas invited them to participate in the #MoveNation campaign. It created guides for simple outdoor exercises, with some employees shared inspiring photos and videos of their training, being active in their everyday life.

A single donation of blood can save up to three lives. That’s why on World Blood Donor Day, employees from Drogas Lithuania stores and offices participated in the blood drive and had the opportunity to help people in need. There is no greater feeling than to give the gift of life – the Drogas team knew this and is always trying to give this gift whenever they can.

Global warming may seem a complex issue, but we can all easily do our part to help alleviate it. Drogas Lithuania actively took part in the #MaskChallenge to #BeatAirPollution. Employees took up initiatives to help reduce their carbon footprint, from using public transport or car sharing to work and reducing their consumption of meat to turning off lights and electronics when not in use. On World Environment Day, they fulfilled their pledge and made a commitment to carry on their actions.

The team at Drogas Latvia got creative on Halloween and upped their costume game at work, with many putting in extra effort to dress up for the occasion. Some went as far as designing their own outfits from head to toe and adorning the office space with festive decorations.

Conversations on personal hygiene took an interesting turn when Drogas’ very own superheroes – Ms Soup Bubble and Mr Nasty Microbe – explained the importance of hand washing to the community. The characters, which became well loved by children and adults alike, spread important messages in the community with humour and achieved great results.

This year’s World Environment Day saw Drogas Lithuania join a global challenge to combat one of the greatest environmental challenges of our time. All staff were invited to upload a selfie with their canvas shopping bag, metal straw or any other reusable products with the hashtag #BeatPlasticPollution and tag friends to do the same in the following 24 hours to raise awareness on the initiative.

International Day of Happiness


International Day of Happiness

Aristotle once said: “Happiness is the meaning and purpose of life.” But many of us find it difficult to make time for happiness. This is one reason why the United Nations proclaimed 20 March the annual International Day of Happiness. So employees of Drogas Lithuania celebrated happiness together on this special day. Everyone had the opportunity to learn about “10 Keys to Happier Living”. The company also created a happiness wall, where employees were invited to list the things that make them happy.

World Cancer Day

On World Cancer Day, 4 February, employees of Drogas Lithuania united in the fight against cancer, and spread their message of “Sing for Change”, using hashtags in their social media posts. Leading up to the day, employees received helpful information and advice about the risk of cancer and how to prevent it. The aim of this activity was to encourage and motivate Drogas employees to take care of their health and to support others around the world in the fight against this disease.
