Drogas Latvia has been spreading the message that ‘Recycling is Natural!’, setting up plastic drop-off points in stores and working with brands to offer vouchers to customers who bring in their used packaging. Drogas is also promoting refillable aluminum shampoo bottles as part of the Good Refill system being rolled out by P&G.
Drogas Latvia and Lithuania have always taken pride in their employees, who are already everyday heroes supporting each other and especially customers at our stores. In April, #DrogasHero programme was launched to encourage internal appreciation of super colleagues, honouring their work, talent and values. Almost 100 nominations with heartwarming stories were received, among which 11 finalists were selected for ultimate voting on the employee Facebook group. With a high engagement rate, the voting drove team spirits to new heights. To keep the positive energies, all 11 finalists were rewarded each with special titles. Everyone is a winner!
The COVID-19 pandemic may have hampered our daily activities but not our love for the world. Drogas Lithuania was determined to get everyone on the move in the name of good health. The challenge was a virtual team walk around the earth. In three months’ time, the team managed to walk almost twice around the world! The concerted effort offset the equivalent of carbon emission captured by over 340 thousand trees! What better way to unite and bond while raising awareness for our environment.
There were generous gifts from Drogas Latvia during International Women’s Day. An inspiring card and fresh tulips were gifted to every woman who shopped in store.
Just before the start of the new school year, Drogas launched a campaign in social media and in-store to raise awareness on proper handwashing habits. A series of promotional messaging with characters Ms Soap Bubble and Mr Nasty Microbe were created and shared by Drogas employees through social media as well as flyers at the retail outlets to capture customers’ attention.
As a response to COVID-19, April was named “Thank You for work!” month at Drogas and celebrated with different activities. Employees wrote thank-you notes to each other both in digital format and by hand. Office staff were asked to participate as volunteers, gifting nutrient supplement to the store teams and spend some time with them to say a personal thank you. The management team recorded a special thank-you video and shared with all employees, and an audio recording was aired on radio as well as in stores.
Elders in nursing home are more prone to Cvoid-19, so it is very important to maintain good hygiene. Drogas Latvia donates necessary hygiene products to over 80 nursing homes in Latvia to help them prevent from the spread of virus.
To encourage its employees to pay more attention to their physical, mental and social health, Drogas invited them to participate in the #MoveNation campaign. It created guides for simple outdoor exercises, with some employees shared inspiring photos and videos of their training, being active in their everyday life.
A single donation of blood can save up to three lives. That’s why on World Blood Donor Day, employees from Drogas Lithuania stores and offices participated in the blood drive and had the opportunity to help people in need. There is no greater feeling than to give the gift of life – the Drogas team knew this and is always trying to give this gift whenever they can.
Global warming may seem a complex issue, but we can all easily do our part to help alleviate it. Drogas Lithuania actively took part in the #MaskChallenge to #BeatAirPollution. Employees took up initiatives to help reduce their carbon footprint, from using public transport or car sharing to work and reducing their consumption of meat to turning off lights and electronics when not in use. On World Environment Day, they fulfilled their pledge and made a commitment to carry on their actions.
