Staff from Spektr visited educational institutions in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, on 30 June, with the aim of attracting prospective new employees for Spektr. They also educated and inspired the students about how to maintain a healthy lifestyle and a positive attitude.
Spektr and Colgate jointly organised a photo contest on the theme of “Save Water” in April. Customers had to take a photo featuring a toothbrush against a background of a closed tap to win a prize.
The anniversary celebration of Spektr in 2016 coincided with A.S. Watson Group’s 175th Anniversary. In line with the double festivities, plenty of events and activities were organised for employees, including celebratory photo shoots and a fun contest on social media.
Spektr partnered with its supplier Henkel to launch a Save Water Photo Contest. To participate, customers had to post a photo of their toothbrush against the background of a closed water tap on the social media. Winners of the contest received special prizes as a gratitude for promoting water conservation.
As part of water saving campaign, Spektr partnered with Henkel to broadcast an educational video “Save Water, Save the Planet” in stores to promote water saving.
Spektr carried out a “Be Visible” campaign to promote night-time road safety for children. Reflective pendants and stickers for children to use at night were sold in Spektr stores, and all proceeds went to the charitable foundation Advita, which helps children with oncological disease. The campaign also included training films on TV, and the distribution of posters and educational material about road safety for children. On the last day of the campaign was a festival for children, featuring the announcement of the results of a competition, and prize-giving.

Watsons Turkey and Spektr Russia organized a rousing get-together for their employees respectively, ranging from back office personnel to store teams. The gathering enabled them to share their work achievements as well as enjoy motivational coaching and programmes.
Spektr volunteers organise a trip with children from orphanage to the Dolphinarium, providing a unique chance for children to explore the fascinating world of sea mammals.
A.S. Watson, the retail and manufacturing division of Hutchison Whampoa Limited (HWL), today announced its acquisition of St. Petersburg based Russian health and beauty retail chain, Spektr Group. This acquisition marks an extension of A.S. Watson Group's retail network into Russia, the sixth largest economy in the world in terms of PPP (Purchase Power Parity) . The addition of Spektr further strengthens A.S. Watson Group's position as the world's largest health and beauty retailer.
