A.S. Watson Europe Office held an international baking competition in the weeks leading up to Christmas. A different challenge was given every week including biscuits, cookies, and a one-of-a-kind freestyle challenge. Winners were chosen each week by public vote and the competition was fierce. People got to show off their lesser known baking skills and everyone enjoyed the extra treats!
Superdrug were placed 74th in the 2020 Social Mobility Index, which ranks Britain’s employers on the actions they are taking to ensure they are open to accessing and progressing talent from all backgrounds and it showcases progress towards improving social mobility.
The aim of the Index is to encourage firms to share their initiatives and progress in becoming more inclusive employers and to reveal which sectors and companies are taking the issue of social mobility most seriously.
Watsons Ukraine organised a live stream on Instagram about the basic principles of nutrition which attracted over 2,100 viewers. Hosted by a colleague, the stream saw viewers learning about the foods that would keep them healthy and happy, the pros and cons for each type of food in regard to physical and mental health.
Colleagues from Kruidvat and Trekpleister worked together to volunteer at the neighborhood Foodbank to help them sort and organise incoming donations and fill food boxes for about 100 families per week. They also donated approximately 1,000 clean diaper samples to the Foodbank.
This past fall, A.S. Watson Group Europe Office participated in a challenge to help raise money for Operation Smile. The challenge involved walking, running and cycling the most distance over a four-week period. The team – even those living in more unforgiving weather – manage to cover over 10,000km and raised in excess of £4,000 for Operation Smile.
The Perfume Shop’s Smile Inside Out Campaign started on World Smile Day and focused on “Bringing A Smile” and “Feeling Great Inside Out”. Through virtual live events and posts focusing on health, lifestyle, positivity and love, from sharing on mood boosting scents to nominating someone who makes you smile. This campaign also supported Operation Smile UK to raise awareness and funds.
ICI PARIS XL has always strived to provide the best service and this year its winning streak continues – ICI PARIS XL Belgium received the Best Retailer of the Year Award in the Perfumery category for the 14th year, and the Best Webshop Award, also in the Perfumery Category, for the third year. At the same time, ICI PARIS XL Netherlands was also awarded Best Retailer of the Year for the 17th year, and the Best Webshop ward for the seventh year.
“A smile is happiness you’ll find right under your nose.” Launched as a pilot programme to kick off the celebration of its 180th anniversary in 2021, A.S. Watson Group appointed 13 members of the Global Millennial CSR Committee as Chief Smile Officers (CSOs) to support the Global Smile Campaign initiative. The anniversary’s theme is dubbed “Smile Inside Out” to promote mental wellbeing, and as such the CSOs will advocate on social media to raise the awareness around Get Active, Think Positive, and Love Yourself & Others.
On World Clean Up Day, volunteer team from Kruidvat and Trekpleister Netherlands marched to a nature reserve near the headquarters to pick up trash and clean up the area. It’s important that everyone is reminded of the importance of keeping our natural environment clean after our visit.
