To promote a healthy lifestyle, Watsons China invited professional dancers to teach a dynamic “u-jam” fitness dance class for staff after work every Wednesday. The aim was to help employees relax, exercise and release the stress of the day. Participants unanimously praised the classes, which greatly increased their enthusiasm for sport and enhanced their satisfaction with Watsons. As a result, the employees have been better able to devote themselves to their work, which has been beneficial for the company.

On a wintery afternoon, staff from PARKnSHOP China brought gifts and visited a colleague, Mr. Ma. Despite having to overcome a life of disability and hardship, Mr. Ma had always been grateful for his job as a grass-roots worker in the distribution centre and performed his duties well. The visit from his colleagues was a simple but wonderful act of kindness, warmth and friendship that made Mr. Ma feel appreciated and loved.
To promote environmental conservation and protection of our natural resources, A.S. Watson Industries staff and their family members participated in a one-day clean-up called “Go Away, Rubbish!” in Beijing. Volunteers helped to pick up litter and rubbish that had accumulated around a moat. The event provided a good opportunity to educate the next generation about preserving the environment.
At Watsons China, all staff members are its ambassadors. Regardless of background, Watsons believe that each and every one of them embodies qualities that make them unique and have strengths that help them shine. To encourage our staff to adopt a proactive and confident attitude about playing up their strengths, it launched a photo competition. To participate in the competition, employees simply upload a photo of themselves with their favourite lyrics from the Brand Campaign’s theme song. Winners got to take home vouchers and cameras for showing off their shining attitude.
Embracing low-carbon travel, based on lower energy consumption and pollution levels, means taking steps to reduce our human carbon footprint and carbon dioxide emission. An effective way to put this concept into practice in our daily lives, is to make small changes in our travel habits. With this in mind, Watsons China’s staff from various cities have been organising “greener” outdoor activities such as bike tours. The objective is to encourage less frequent use of private cars and promote cycling and walking as healthier and cleaner alternatives to the usual modes of travel.
Store staff from Watsons China enjoyed a series of fun summer sport activities organised by the Guangzhou Union. Over 900 colleagues demonstrated their teamwork and spirit of collaboration by participating in fun team games. Plenty of laughter was generated with the help of funny dances and humorous games. It was wonderful to see the teams strengthen their bonds and have their morale boosted.
Watsons China organised a unique way to teach their staff and their families English. Foreign teachers were brought in to give English lessons to the children, after which, parents and their children came together to make cupcakes together in a rewarding, bonding event.
Watsons Win Six “Top 10 Retailer” Titles in Asia Markets
A.S. Watson Group (ASW) has won the “Top Ten Retailer in Hong Kong – Gold Award” in the Retail Asia-Pacific Top 500 Awards 2017 organised by Asia Retail Publishing. The Group’s flagship brand Watsons was ranked high amongst other retail companies in five markets, including Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines, while Watsons China also won the Asia Top Ten retailers in Health & Beauty category.
Watsons China was ranked 25th among the top retail brands in Mainland China, according to the latest “Top 100 New Retail Brands Ranking 2017” released by PinTu, a renowned business media platform based in Mainland China. The recognition reflects that Watsons has become a highly trusted and popular brand and successfully earned customers’ heart in Mainland China.
