Recycle to Promote Environment Education

Watsons Taiwan partners with Maybelline for a plastic recycling campaign and set up recycling bins in selected stores.

For every empty bottle recycled, Maybelline will donate 10 dollars to Re-think, a Taiwanese environmental non-profit organization, to run an environmental education programme.

Watsons members can also receive a free Maybelline lipstick after returning their empty bottles.

Watsons is proud to announce the launch of over 1,600 Sustainable Choices products both in stores and online. The launch is the result of close collaboration with global supplier partners, including sector leaders Beiersdorf, GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson, Kao, L’Oréal, Procter & Gamble, Reckitt, Shiseido and Unilever.

Watsons Taiwan thanked all colleagues after a year of hard work with the 2020 Best Employees of the Head office and Distribution Center voting. Measured upon Watsons’ core capabilities, a total 34 nominations were received, 14 shortlisted and the final 6 winners awarded cash incentive and medals.

Handmade Needle Felted Craft

Working with our hands does wonders for our brain and can be a great way to relieve stress. A total of 60 colleagues from Watsons Taiwan participated in a needle felted craft workshop where, under the guidance of a tutor, made their own wool felted craft by hand. Concentrating on something other than their regular work was a good way to relieve stress and re-energise.

Stay Active, Keep Walking

As we spend more time at home, it’s easy to forget that our commute to and from work daily helps us stay active. As such, Watsons Taiwan organised a step challenge for employees, which saw a total of 178 participants completing a minimum 6,000 steps daily as a form of exercise. Winners were rewarded cash prizes as well as smart bracelets to help them further their health goals.

Virtual Workout Challenge

Due to the social distancing measures, a lot of our colleagues spent more time at home. The team at Watsons Taiwan conducted a virtual workout challenge, encouraging employees to participate in their own way – walking, running or cycling – to reach a weekly target for a consecutive six weeks. A total of 190 employees participated and tracked their weekly progress on the staff app. Those who achieved their goals were awarded prizes and together all participants reached a total of 60,075km.
