Watsons Thailand invited its staff to a mangrove forest restoration activity at Urban Forest in Surat Thani, a mangrove forest on the shores of the Gulf of Thailand. Participants got to learn about the mangrove ecosystem and planted trees to protect the coastline from tropical winds.
The Watsons “FITT WALK 2” event filled the National Stadium of Thailand with laughter, music and energy. The FITT WALK form of exercise involves walking in alternate sessions of fast and slow steps, in time with music. The event also supported the #GETACTIVE campaign by encouraging people to take better care of their health. All proceeds were donated to the Cardiac Children Foundation of Thailand, which helps children with congenital heart disease to receive better treatment.
Employees and management from Watsons Thailand wanted to spread a little festive cheer to children and women from the Association for the Promotion of the Status of Women. A New Year party was organised specially for these mothers and children who came from troubled family backgrounds. The meaningful event included a luncheon and numerous recreational activities, such as band performances, a magic show, games, a lucky draw as well as special donation of Watsons products.
Led by the top management of Watsons Thailand, the Yellow Star Planting activity was held on the occasion of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn’s 65th birthday anniversary. The activity used the the Yellow Star – a tree symbolic of His Majesty – to create an opportunity to make the environment greener for the community.
Watsons Win Six “Top 10 Retailer” Titles in Asia Markets
A.S. Watson Group (ASW) has won the “Top Ten Retailer in Hong Kong – Gold Award” in the Retail Asia-Pacific Top 500 Awards 2017 organised by Asia Retail Publishing. The Group’s flagship brand Watsons was ranked high amongst other retail companies in five markets, including Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines, while Watsons China also won the Asia Top Ten retailers in Health & Beauty category.
To encourage customers to make water conservation part of their everyday life, Watsons and Colgate jointly launched a water saving campaign across a number of markets including China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines. Harnessing the opportunity of World Water Day, engaging contents such as games and videos were launched on the brands’ social media platforms, coupled with in-store communications. Customers were educated on behaviours and habits they could implement to consume less water, particularly while brushing teeth. Watsons Singapore also partnered with the Public Utilities Board Singapore (PUB) to advocate saving water amongst Singaporeans.
Watsons Thailand sought to encourage their Head Office and Warehouse staff to take care of their health and reduce work stress, by providing a dedicated location in the offices that promoted healthy habits. These Health and Wellness corners provided recreational and sports equipment, height and weight measurement equipment and health information leaflets.
On 29 May, loyal customers and staff of Watsons Thailand planted 500 trees at Ubon Ratchathani in an effort to reduce global warming, expand green space, and make the environment more sustainable.
On 12 May, over 320 Watsons Thailand employees and suppliers provided lunch and donated much-needed items to shelter and support homeless people at the Bantabkwang Foundation in Saraburi.
