Since 2013, PARKnSHOP Hong Kong and Hong Kong Young Women’s Christian Association have been co-organising the Elderly Food Coupon programme in several districts. This year, the programme was implemented in the Western district of Hong Kong Island. Riding on this initiative, an Elderly Food Coupon Shopping Day was held at PARKnSHOP in Kennedy Town. Volunteers accompanied elders to make mosquito repellent bags, enjoy afternoon tea, and redeem food items and daily necessities with coupons. It was certainly a very pleasant and fulfilling afternoon for all!
To help staff whose children might be left uncared for at home during the summer holidays, PARKnSHOP China organised a children’s summer camp in stores. Employees could bring their children to the workplace, where there was a designated place for them to play and study, alleviating a source of potential stress and uncertainty for the parents.
For three consecutive years, A.S. Watson Group (ASW) and its retail brands in HK were awarded the Green Office Label in the Green Office Awards Labelling Scheme (GOALS) organised by World Green Organisation (WGO), to recognise for our commitment and achievement in implementing green practices within workplace. The group also clinched the Eco-healthy Workplace Label this year by fulfilling the criteria of eco-healthy workplace best practices. Six awards were received this year, for A.S. Watson Group, A.S. Watson Industries, Watsons, PARKnSHOP, FORTRESS and Watsons Wine.
In the spirit of sharing love and care with people in need, PARKnSHOP Hong Kong joined hands with Food Angel to run “City Food Drive” for the fourth time. Food donation in eight categories were collected from the public at around 280 retail stores, and were delivered to Food Angel for preparing hot meals for the needy. To boost the impact of the charity efforts, PARKnSHOP also matched donation of SELECT brand items donated by the public.
Launches First-ever Point Sharing Mobile App for Customers to Share More, Enjoy More
This year marks the 10th anniversary of MoneyBack, a member reward programme under A.S. Watson Group which was launched in 2007. Entering its 10th anniversary, the Group hosted a celebratory event today and presented to the public the brand new image of MoneyBack. It also announced the launch of the first-ever MoneyBack mobile app which enables members to manage their accounts more conveniently at anytime and anywhere. “Share More, Enjoy More” is the key of the new MoneyBack, members can now share points with family and friends, or let others know about a good deal they found in MoneyBack mobile app with a few clicks. Members can also get more personalised product information and shopping offers which are given out based on their shopping preference.
In celebration of International Children’s Day, a family outing was organised for PARKnSHOP China employees and their children to learn about organic farming. Fifty families visited an organic farm in Huizhou, Guangdong, and enjoyed picking fruit and going on tours of the farm.
PARKnSHOP Hong Kong’s Green School Programme invites all primary and special schools in the city to apply for funding for green projects such as sustainable farming, energy efficiency, waste reduction and recycling. The programme provides students with wonderful opportunities to learn about environmental protection in practice.
In an effort to spread love to colleagues with disabilities, volunteers from PARKnSHOP China visited their homes and brought them some gifts and daily necessities. The simple home visit bought our colleagues closer together, and demonstrated PARKnSHOP’s commitment to inclusiveness and caring for the needy.
PARKnSHOP Food Safety Laboratory received the Accreditation for Organochlorine Pesticides Residue Testing under the Hong Kong Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (HOKLAS), granted by the Hong Kong Accreditation Service under the Innovation and Technology Commission, recognising PARKnSHOP’s capabilities to conduct such professional tests. Reports issued by the PARKnSHOP Food Safety Laboratory are now internationally recognised.
A.S. Watson Group was recognised once again for our commitment and concerted efforts in forging a sustainable business development, by winning the “Sustainable Business Award” for the second straight year.
The “Sustainable Business Award 2016” was organised by World Green Organisation, which measured Hong Kong corporations’ achievements in building quality working environment, working towards environmental protection, conducting business responsibly and involving the community effectively.
There were eleven winners this year, with A.S. Watson being the only company from the health & beauty retail sector.
