150,000 Masks for Elderly

A.S. Watson Group and Watsons Hong Kong donates 150,000 pieces of surgical mask to vulnerable elders in 10 districts through our social networks with Hong Kong YWCA, YMMSS, St. James’ Settlement and Hong Kong Christian Service to save them queuing for hours for the masks amid the pandemic. Volunteers help pack the masks in small bags for easier distribution.

Happier People are Healthier, according to the findings in a global health survey released by WISE, involving 5,500 respondents in 10 markets in Asia and Europe. The survey asked respondents to rate their own health and whether they smile enough, the results showed that happier people who smile more perceive themselves as healthier. 91% of respondents says they believe that smiling and laughing have lots of health benefits, yet only 66% smile enough and mainly stopped by stress. By generation, Gen Z smiles more and are happier than the more mature groups including Gen Y, Gen X and Boomers. And Gen Z tends to consider themselves as healthy.

Give a Smile Thailand Medical Mission


A.S. Watson Group Millennials CSR Committee members attended the “Give a Smile” medical mission with our global NGO partner Operation Smile, in Mae Sot, Thailand. The Committee members were part of our volunteer team to reach out to the cleft patients and their families and took different roles in the mission. A.S. Watson Group’s “Give a Smile” campaign has funded surgery for around 1,500 children with cleft palate or cleft lip since its launch in 2018, giving them new smiles and hope.
