Give a Smile Thailand Medical Mission


A.S. Watson Group Millennials CSR Committee members attended the “Give a Smile” medical mission with our global NGO partner Operation Smile, in Mae Sot, Thailand. The Committee members were part of our volunteer team to reach out to the cleft patients and their families and took different roles in the mission. A.S. Watson Group’s “Give a Smile” campaign has funded surgery for around 1,500 children with cleft palate or cleft lip since its launch in 2018, giving them new smiles and hope.

Watsons Opens its 3,800th Store in Mainland China

A.S. Watson Group is delighted to announce the grand opening of its 3,800th Watsons store in mainland China, an important milestone for its market leadership in the country. Located in Kunming, the largest city in Yunnan Province with GDP growth of 8.9% last year, the store is designed to provide one-on-one beauty services to customers, with fully integrated digital experience.

A.S. Watson Group established a global Millennials CSR Committee for the first time featuring 14 young colleagues to help enhance the company’s social responsibilities roadmap. Millennials from 11 markets in Asia and Europe are selected to be on this mission.

A.S. Watson Group organised the Project LOL Elderly Visit, a highlighting activity of Smile for Good 2019, with the support of 1,200 volunteers from the Group’s business units and 45 business partners to visit more than 2,000 singleton elderly in Hong Kong.

Dominic Lai, Group Managing Director of A.S. Watson Group said, “We are happy to serve 2,000 elderly in the community with our suppliers and colleagues today. This year, the Group is also proud to introduce “Vollar” (Volunteer Dollar). We will turn the volunteer hours into donation to help cleft children and give them new hope. We expect to serve 4,000 volunteer hours for today’s elderly visit, so the Group will donate HKD200,000 to Operation Smile to restore the smiles of cleft children around the world.”
